Weekend cosplay shoot

Last weekend on Sunday went to a cosplay meet at the Melbourne Museum, saw alot of familiar faces cosplayers and photographers alike.  These meets are always so much fun and a great learning experience especially when you have such a great bunch like this lot.  Day went on and it was rather cold, luckily we ended up doing alot of underground shoots (in a parking lot) away from the blistering cold wind.  I borrowed a light stand and a small umbrella from fellow and AWESOME photographer neil creek and played around with the lighting. After about 2 hours of doing some photos, Neil corrected my light stand which I had accidently set up the other way around, HAHAHA I was wondering why my pics weren’t coming out too well.  Apparently its a common mistake so I didn’t feel that silly.  On another note if those of you out there would like to learn more about lighting I was recommended this great site www.strobist.blogspot.com.  A great site that takes you through from beginner to advanced knowledge of setting up lights, what lights to buy and where and much much more.  definitely check it out!!  Below I have put some of the best shots (I thought) of the day.  If you want to see more check out my flickr site here for more shots from the day.
